District Carol Services

Posted on December 8th, 2011

This week saw the District’s annual Beaver and Cub Carol Services take place at Aveley Methodist Church and St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Church, Grays respectively. Both services included well known carols but were interspersed between two very different interpretations of Christmas stories.

The Beavers were joined by the Romford Methodist Circuit Puppeteers who told the reasons why Christmas exists using singing puppets, chocolate bars and Christmas crackers. The Cubs however were entertained by a play on the Story of Christmas which was performed by the 1st and 7th Grays Packs.

Both services were completed with a number of youth and adult awards including Long Service Awards and Chief Scout Awards.

Many thanks goes to Aveley and Belhus for organising the Beaver service, 1st Grays and 7th Grays Conquest for organising the Cub service and to Rev. Darren Barlow for leading the Cub service.
