1st Corringham clean for charity

30th May 2014
On the 17th May, 1st Corringham Scout Group joined forces with Corringham Fire Station for a charity car wash as part of Scout Community Week.

Over 60 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts took part, alongside the fire station staff and families to clean several hundred cars over the 6 hours with the young people each attending a 2 hour slot.

Stephen Cooke, 1st Corringham’s Group Leader was pleased with how successful it was, “Some people were coming back several times with different cars they were so happy, we even had someone travel all the way from Basildon just to get his car cleaned! A good time was had by everyone and the firemen enjoyed our company so much they have invited us back to do it again.”

The event raised over £400 which was split between The Fire Fighters Charity and 1st Corringham’s hall rebuilding fund.
