Volunteers’ achievements recognised with St George’s Day Awards

12th April 2015
11 dedicated volunteers in the District have received St George’s Day awards, recognising their achievements.

The 8 Silver Acorns and 3 Bar to the Silver Acorns celebrate the huge amount of work and dedication these volunteers give to Scouting in Thurrock and their distinguished service to the young people.

They have all provided untold hours of effort to ensure that young people have the best opportunities and I am sure that they all don’t look for recognition but, nevertheless, it is right that we should recognise their service. I look forward to presenting many of these at the Renewal of Promise Service.” commented District Commissioner Graham Monk on the announcement of these awards.
