Beavers, Cubs and Scouts enjoy Virtual Camp at home

19th April 2020
With face-to-face Scouting currently suspended, we recently held a virtual camp for young people across the District to take part in at home.

On Saturday 4th April, Beavers Cubs and Scouts from across Thurrock were setting up tents in their gardens or living rooms and building indoor shelters from blankets to take part in the District’s virtual camp.

Along with spending a night sleeping somewhere other than their bed, the young people also had to hold a campfire with a campfire song. Along with some real fires in gardens, there were also some very creative ideas with some young people crafting their own fire and others going digital with a campfire video on their television!

The young people were also set a fun treasure hunt where they had to find twenty different things around their home, including something blue, something that floats and something from a cow.

More photos from the weekend can be found in our Gallery.
